Karl Saimre

Director of real estate, Capital Assets and Real Estate

Karl joins the VCU Capital Asset and Real Estate team with 17 years of experience in real estate.  Most recently Karl spent 11 years with the Virginia Department of General Services, where he was the Director of the Bureau of Real Estate Services.  Originally from Delaware, Karl holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Operations Management from the University of Delaware, an MBA from the University of Hawaii Manoa and Maters of International Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management.  Karl currently lives in Williamsburg with his wife (Maribel) and 2 teenage stepsons (Jackson and Nicholas).   When not attending a high school or club soccer match, Karl enjoys a variety of outdoor activities and according to his home critics, has improved his home cooking over the past two years.
