Tanya Giscombe
Senior manager, talent strategy

Tanya Giscombe serves as the senior manager for the talent strategy team. Tanya has more than 18 years of diverse human resources experience with particular emphasis in talent management and recruitment. Tanya’s background is rich in finding exceptional talent and implementing strategic talent management solutions for esteemed national/global corporate manufacturing organizations as well as state government.

Prior to joining VCU, Tanya served as HR business partner with Virginia Department of Emergency Management. While there, she successfully managed the talent management program and implemented a comprehensive talent strategy that aligned with the agency’s business objectives and encouraged a highly engaged and valued workforce.

Tanya-Lee holds a master’s degree in public administration with a minor in human resources management from Virginia Commonwealth University and a BS in political science from Virginia State University. She is SHRM-CP certified and an active member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) as well as College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA).

Rebecca Aldridge
Talent strategy consultant

Rebecca Aldridge serves as the talent strategy consultant for VCU HR’s Executive Search Team. Rebecca has eight years of higher education and human resources experience with a focus on talent acquisition and process management. She is known for building collaborative relationships with internal and external partners in a mission-driven environment. Rebecca’s background in program development and involvement with many aspects of higher education administration has made her successful in developing and implementing strategies for recruiting diverse and highly skilled executive-level candidates.

Prior to joining VCU, Rebecca served as a leadership development initiatives coordinator at the District of Columbia Public Schools. At DCPS, she developed an internship program from the ground up and managed multiple leadership development programs for current and aspiring leaders within the district. She has also worked at George Washington University’s Center for Career Services as a student employment manager, facilitating recruitment and onboarding for meaningful student employment opportunities for a diverse array of students, including Federal Work-Study program participants. Prior to that, she worked at the College of William and Mary during her time as an undergraduate, including experience in the Department of Theater and Dance, Residence Life and Facilities Management. These experiences solidified her interest and commitment to higher education as a professional industry.

Rebecca holds a master’s degree in higher education administration with a concentration in policy and finance from George Washington University, in addition to a bachelor’s degree in psychology and english from the College of William and Mary. She serves on VCU’s Student Conduct Board and Academic Honor Council and is an active member of the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR).
