Orientations
VCU offers two types of orientation sessions scheduled every two weeks:
- All new University and Academic Professionals are expected to attend the University Orientation virtual session.
- All new employees are invited to attend an optional Benefits & Leave Overview virtual session. Please note: You must enroll in health coverage in the first 30 calendar days of your employment (starting with and including your hire date) or your health coverage will be waived.
University Orientation (Virtual)
This 90-minute orientation introduces you to VCU’s culture, helps build connections and community, and is the starting point for your career development at VCU.
All new university and academic professionals are expected to attend the University Orientation. We also welcome new faculty who would like to attend the University Orientation, although University Orientation is not a replacement for the twice yearly New Faculty Orientation coordinated by the Office of Faculty Affairs.
To register, select the link for the University Orientation date below that aligns with your start date and self-register in the Talent@VCU system. You will receive a confirmation email with attendance instructions and information once your enrollment is complete.
All new employees are also invited to attend a quarterly in-person networking event.
