Director of Enrollment Research and Evaluation, Strategic Enrollment Management

Kristin Smith is thrilled to join the SEMSS leadership team as Director of Enrollment Research and Evaluation. She comes to the position with over 15 years of higher education experience in operations, policy, strategy, and data in enrollment management and student success. Dr. Smith has conducted qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods research projects encompassing topics related to experiences of undergraduate adult learners at VCU, needs of women in higher education, military affiliated students, and VCU's Summer Scholars program. With considerable experience developing data visualizations, reports, presentations, and dashboards for various audiences, Dr. Smith enjoys the challenge of effectively communicating complex data to make it more accessible for others. As Director, she will provide critical research, evaluation, data analysis, reports, and recommendations to SEMSS leadership, supporting informed operational data-driven decisions for the essential functions of enrollment management.
